Nintendo PR List Proposal

By Sterling Sanders

Hello, My name is Sterling Sanders, Senior Editor of Mygamer.com. I am contacting you in regards to getting Mygamer on the Nintendo PR list while additionally helping to form a better relationship between our two companies. We feel without the "official" support of one of the top three biggest companies in the Video Game industry, both our readers and our content will suffer. So it is one of our goals here, to not only be added to Nintendo's PR list, but to stay in consistent contact in while receiving both your press materials and review versions of your peripherals and games.

Objectives and Benefits:

1. Public Relations List Addition

a. We will receive Nintendo Press materials, helping to better inform our readers.

b. Nintendo will have free access to advertising through our site.

c. Our content will be more accurate, "coming directly from the source."

d. More gamers will be in contact with Nintendo news.

e. Nintendo would be creating a larger fan base for themselves.

2. Available Review [Hardware and Software] Product

a. By providing us with Debug Kits, we will have the ability to play pre-production games; getting our content about Nintendo's gaming actions out earlier to the gamers through previews.

b. By providing us with finished copies of your games, more gamers will be informed on your titles.

c. A possible advertising and sales increase for both our companies.

Description:

Mygamer - as a company - is devoted to voicing the opinions and ideas of gamers through our website; that's in addition to providing a steady information base to keep those same consumers (gamers) involved, interested, and well versed in the world of Video Games. We are currently seeking the help of all the major game developers and publishers to help us better inform the people on the actions of the gaming society and Nintendo as a company. To accomplish this, we felt the need to contact game developers/publishers in an effort to increase interaction between our two companies, thus holding true to our previous statements. Without this help, our site will suffer a serious void, as Nintendo is one of the top three companies and the industry, and Nintendo would be missing out on a large chunk of the video gaming population.

The first simple step - we feel - lies in press release materials. When issuing a press release we would like to be included on the list of informed parties. We feel this could only benefit us simultaneously; as you would game further recognition as a company, inform more gamers on your newly anticipated titles, and come a step closer to interacting "directly" with the minds and ideas of your consumers. On the same note, we would be holding true to our promise to keep them [our viewers] informed.

Goals:

What we are requesting and hope to accomplish, is that Nintendo adds Mygamer.com to is press list, and keep in close contact as well. In doing so, we will provide any additional help and advertising requested of the company. It is also a plan of ours to receive both a debug kits, and pre-production titles of your major gaming titles.

Site Information:

As far as our site is concerned, Mygamer's reach numbers average around 28-32,000 unique views a week (recording unique IP's @ 12 hour increments); that is be about 120K+ unique viewers a month. Our demographic audience/target audience is based around 15 - 30 year old gamers [both sexes]. So far, we've found that to be our biggest market and main focus. Technically Mygamer.Com has only been running since last September (where we started with around 1,000 visitors a week and moved up).

Our staff however, also ran the website Gameunit.com (currently under redesign/renovation) which had been running for a solid 3/4 years until recently. Mygamer became a much bigger site than Gameunit (thanks in part to review recommendations from the guys at penny-arcade.com). We have recently redirected our energies to this as the main site now and have temporarily merged the two. We had plans to reopen Gameunit.com, but our numbers are have sky rocketed in the last year, so that - most likely - will not be an option.

Mygamer also has a registered user base of 2500 consistently returning people, the site is updated daily (news/reviews/previews), and soon, we'll be adding a weekly editorial section.

Qualifications:

In addition to being the Senior Editor of the site, I also take on the jobs of Managing Editor, and PR manager. I've been dealing with companies for a solid two years, and write a good amount of content that gets posted on the site as a whole. I always stay in contact with other PR directors to help our company and others succeed. Before I was the Senior Editor, I had been writing for Gameunit.com for 2 years.

I've been playing video games since 1988, and feel I'm well informed in all aspects of games, visual, audio, technical etc. This summer I also attended the Industry only event E3 (in LA), where I spoke with other Nintendo PR managers, and suggested I draft a request in a written format.

Final Sentiments:

If this proposal is at all feasible, feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time, it has been greatly appreciated. I'll be contacting you within the next week in order to work out details. Until then.
